It can't be bad, right?
Ambition is a good thing. It can push you to work to succeed and do the things you want to do. There is nothing wrong with that, right? What's wrong with wanting to be successful? Well, like almost all other good things, having too much ambition, is bad. There is an extent to how much ambition you have, before it becomes something negative. For example, let's say that a person wants to get better at something. They would spend their time on it every now and then, hoping to eventually get better. That person is ambitious. But what if they spend all day just doing that one thing? That would be very ambitious, sure, but that just seems crazy. Once you reach the point where all you concentrate on is to succeed, then you have passed the line, where ambition is a negative force. You would have to be able to have time to sit back, and relax. So ambition CAN be bad, if one has too much.

I agree... So is it easy to tell when someone has crossed the line of "too much ambition?"
ReplyDeleteIt depends. The person being overly ambitious can tell if they have crossed the line, because they can feel the stress of being under pressure, or having too much on their plate. Other people may view the person just as a hard worker, and they may or may not call them too ambitious. So no, it is not easy to tell when someone has crossed the line.
